Syntegon launches oral solid dosage customer center in Germany
Syntegon, a pharmaceutical and biotech equipment supplier headquartered in Stuttgart, Germany, has opened a new Oral Solid Dosage (OSD) Customer Center in Fellbach following its relocation from nearby Waiblingen.
The 7,900-square-meter facility includes cleanrooms, a powder laboratory, capsule filling and sealing equipment, and tablet presses for pharmaceutical and nutraceutical development and manufacturing trials. The customer center is located alongside Syntegon’s production facilities, allowing development activities to be conducted near manufacturing operations.
Syntegon said the facility will allow customers to test new formulations and existing products on production equipment and support process development through scale-up. The company has invested a double-digit million-euro amount in the Fellbach site.
The site also will host Syntegon’s OSD Academy, which provides training related to solid oral dosage manufacturing. The academy will continue to hold programs at Syntegon’s Schopfheim site, including a coating-focused session scheduled for October.
The new customer center follows Syntegon’s recent expansion of its tablet-coating equipment portfolio with a pilot-scale system. The equipment is designed to handle 8-liter to 75-liter batches and support transfer of coating parameters from development and pilot operations to commercial-scale production.
