ExploRNA Therapeutics, a biotechnology company specializing in mRNA capping technologies, has partnered with the Łukasiewicz Research Network-Industrial Chemistry Institute (Łukasiewicz-IChP) to produce its cap analogs at Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) quality.

The partnership includes ExploRNA’s AvantCap Q1 technology and is intended to establish a supply of GMP-grade cap analogs for clinical-stage mRNA therapeutics and vaccines.

Cap analogs are used during co-transcriptional capping, a step in mRNA manufacturing that affects the yield, quality, and translation efficiency of the resulting mRNA, according to the announcement.

Łukasiewicz-IChP will contribute chemical synthesis and production-scale capabilities to support manufacturing of the materials. ExploRNA said the partnership is intended to enable its cap analogs to progress from laboratory-scale development into clinical and commercial manufacturing applications.
