Eurofins CDMO Alphora, a Mississauga, Ontario-based contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO), has expanded its kilolab and high-potency active pharmaceutical ingredient (HPAPI) development and manufacturing capabilities.

The expansion adds 627 square feet of laboratory space equipped with walk-in fume hoods that can accommodate glass reactors up to 100 liters. The flexible suites can be configured with equipment including isolators, glove boxes, and lyophilizers to support process development, scale-up, and manufacturing activities for high-potency and non-high-potency programs.

The laboratories are supported by a dedicated analytical laboratory and adjacent Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) warehouse, providing integrated space for development, analytical testing, material management, and production readiness.

The expanded capabilities complement Eurofins CDMO Alphora’s services in process research and development, analytical development, GMP manufacturing, as well as commercialization support. The company said the expansion also supports its integrated antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) capabilities by enabling production of linkers and payloads for conjugation with monoclonal antibodies manufactured at the site.

The expansion follows Eurofins CDMO Alphora’s participation in a research collaboration with the National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program and Daresbury Proteins announced in February. The NextGen ADC Platform initiative is focused on developing higher-yield expression systems and incorporating linker tags into monoclonal antibody production to streamline ADC manufacturing.
