Silicone Pump Tubing Now Offers Class VI Approval

AdvantaPure recently introduced a pump grade, platinum-cured silicone tubing that’s USP Class VI approved. Designated APSPG, the tubing itself carries the approval, not only the material from which it is produced. APSPG is manufactured specifically for peristaltic pumps and far outlasts standard silicone tubing.

The USP (United States Pharmacopoeia) Class VI approval of APSPG assures users of the tubing’s purity in critical applications such as pharmaceutical and biomedical. It is a flexible product specially formulated to withstand repeated compression and release for consistent, dependable performance. APSPG has good rebound and snaps back into its original form during pump use. The result is steady fluid flow rates because of the tubing’s unchanging interior shape.

Other advantages of APSPG peristaltic pump tubing include:

  • Smooth surfaces that resist bacteria build-up
  • Low volatile grade, platinum-cured silicone meets FDA 21 CFR 177.2600
  • Wide operating temperature range of -100°F (-73.3°C) to 400°F (204.4°C)
  • No taste or odor transfer to fluids
  • Translucency for visual contact with the flow
  • Sterilizable/autoclavable

APSPG is manufactured in-house in a certified, HEPA-filtered clean room. Tubing is sealed in polybags at manufacture for cleanliness and stored in a particulate-controlled warehouse to maintain that cleanliness. All APSPG is documented lot traceable with identification on bags and boxes. Ten sizes from .031” through .500” I.D. are stocked in convenient 25- and 50-foot coils (depending on I.D. size), and custom sizes, lengths, and packaging are available.
