Best Lab Deals, Inc./Lab Service Tech Calibration Laboratory (BLD/LSTCL) announced today the company has received laboratory accreditation in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025:2005 "General Requirements for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories." It is only the second calibration laboratory in the eastern United States to reach this milestone.
BLD/LSTCL was audited by Perry Johnson Registrars (PJLA). PJLA was founded by Perry L. Johnson, one of the world's top experts and authors on ISO 9000 and a leading educator on the theories and practices of Total Quality Management. Early on, Mr. Johnson's United Kingdom affiliates were instrumental in formulating and implementing the ISO 9000 standards. Based on its heritage, its vast experience in the field of laboratory quality, and the expertise of its auditing staff, PJLA is becoming one of the largest and most respected accreditation bodies in North America.
ISO/IEC 17025:2005 is the most recent version of the ISO 17025 guideline adapted in June 2005, and covers several new areas in quality management not previously addressed in the 1999 release.
BLD/LSTCL's laboratory has been thoroughly evaluated and accredited by PJLA as meeting the technical competence requirements of the internationally recognized standard ISO/IEC 17025, which includes the management requirements of the ISO 9000 standards.
