Barry Sherman, the chairman of generic drugmaker, Apotex, and his wife, Honey, were found dead in their Toronto mansion. Police are investigating the deaths as suspicious.
Sherman founded Apotex — now the largest Canadian-owned pharma company — in 1974, with two employees.
According to Toronto newspapers, the two bodies were found hanging from a railing on the edge of a basement swimming pool. The deaths are being investigated as a possible murder-suicide, according to unofficial police sources, however family members reportedly disagree with this theory.
Sherman stepped down as Apotex’s CEO in 2012, but stayed on as chairman.
