Lannett to close Wyoming plant

June 14, 2019

Philadelphia-based Lannett announced it will close its Cody Laboratories subsidiary after failing to find a buyer.

Cody Laboratories, Wyoming's only drug manufacturing plant, has been producing active pharmaceutical ingredients for generic prescription pain medications for nearly two decades.

Lannett, which also operates drug manufacturing facilities in Carmel, N.Y. and Seymour, Ind., has been a part of an ongoing investigation by the U.S. Department of Justice into anti-competitive behavior by generic manufacturers.

Cody employees will be laid off in three phases through late September.
