FDA Warns India's Vikshara for Faking Strike

May 11, 2017

The U.S. FDA warned Indian pharma manufacturer Vikshara Trading & Investments Ltd for attempting to avoid an inspection by pretending its employees were on strike and for poor conditions inside its plant, according to RAPS.

FDA said it canceled a pre-arranged inspection of Vikshara's facility last June after the company said its workers had gone on strike and blocked the entrance to the facility several days before the inspection was supposed to take place.

Vikshara continued to say its employees were on strike in July and August, and FDA says the company even provided photos that employees were blocking the plant entrance because of the strike. But FDA found evidence that that the company was still manufacturing products at the same time it said its employees were on strike.
