Synkriom, a pharmaceutical consulting, technology, and supply chain governance solutions provider, and AptaPharma, a U.S.-based contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) headquartered in Pennsauken, New Jersey, have entered into a strategic partnership focused on supporting the development, manufacturing, and commercialization of complex pharmaceutical therapies.
The partnership combines AptaPharma’s formulation development and manufacturing capabilities with Synkriom’s expertise in pharmaceutical consulting, compliance and operational governance, according to the companies.
AptaPharma operates an 83,000-square-foot cGMP manufacturing campus specializing in complex oral and liquid drug formulations. The company provides development and manufacturing services for controlled-release solid dosage forms, oral liquids and suspensions, and softgel products.
The companies said the collaboration will provide pharmaceutical and life sciences organizations with support across the product lifecycle, including formulation development, clinical and commercial manufacturing, regulatory readiness, commercialization planning, supply chain governance, as well as operational support.
The partnership also includes Synkriom CEO Komal Dangi joining AptaPharma as managing partner. According to the announcement, the leadership alignment is intended to expand capabilities supporting pharmaceutical development programs and manufacturing operations.
AptaPharma’s Sugar Lipid Polymer (SLP) technology platform is designed to address formulation challenges such as poor solubility, bioavailability limitations, product instability and patient tolerability concerns. The platform is used to support formulation performance through improvements such as stability and taste masking.
