CMSX Closed Loop Controller

PM1409 Festo InnovateCard

Full Name: CMSX Closed Loop Controller

Team:
 Festo

Status: Active

Debut: July 2014

Field Position: On all quarter-turn actuators

Skill Set: Delivers proportional closed loop control, energy savings, safety at nearly half the price.

Performance Stats:
• Electro-pneumatic positioner provides proportion closed loop control for liquids and gases.
• Equipped with two digital output signals for alarms and a 4-20mA output signal that provides data on actual valve position for better feedback.
• Can accommodate 0-10V, 4-20mA, or 0-20mA input, simplifying specification because one part number covers all three applications.

Regulatory Profile: Ready for all cGMP-based pharmaceutical processing lines

Coach’s Notes: “The CMSX closed loop positioner was designed from the ground up to answer the short comings of today’s closed loop proportional position controllers for quarter turn actuators, namely in the areas of cost, energy consumption, and safety,” said Craig Correia, Process Automation Industry Manager for Festo. “Most positioners for quarter turn actuators cannot match the control, feedback, and simple set up of the CMSX.”

Scout’s Notes: “The CMSX with its signal and position information displayed via a back-lit LED screen is an ideal positioner for the multi-functional Festo DFPB quarter turn actuator and meets the IP65 standard for dust and water protection as well as the ISO 5211 mounting standard. Made from a technical polymer the housing makes it ideal for indoor and outdoor applications."

Team Resources: Festo manufactures pneumatic and electromechanical systems, components, and controls for process and industrial automation. For more than 40 years, Festo Corporation has continuously elevated the state of manufacturing with innovations and optimized motion control solutions that deliver higher performing, more profitable automated manufacturing and processing equipment.
