Smart Processor Produces, Reads Range of RFID Tags

In Booth #E6011 at Pack Expo, Schober USA will unveil its Smart Tag and Ticket Processor (STP), which can read HF, UHF and EPC Gen 2 tags. It is suited for security identification, pallet and case tracking, asset and supply chain management and more.

New features on this tag processor include a redesigned tag dispenser with web tensioning, strategically placed start/stop buttons, greater information gathering capabilities and an optional static discharge protection package.

Wet or dry inlays are placed under a pre-printed web (or multiple webs) for a cost-effective RFID tag production. Interchangeable laminating, die-cutting (including cut-and-place) and punching stations provide processing flexibility, allowing jobs to be completed in reel, zig-zag, folded, or single- product formats. On-board RFID readers ensure the readability of each RFID tag. Ink-jet printing and encoding are available options.

The STP is easy to operate and maintain, according to the company, thanks to standard features such as an automatic web guide system for base material, a mechanical cross-register for transponders, auto-advance for missing transponders, a servo-driven labeling head for opaque and transparent label reels, and an electronic rewinder with tension control for assembled labels.
