Millipore today announced the availability of its suite of Millipore Express SHC (Sterilizing grade High Capacity) polyethersulfone (PES) filters for efficient, economical processing of a variety of process fluids, including cell culture media and media additives, process intermediates and protein-containing solutions. These hydrophilic filters pprovide increased capacity, high sterility assurance and broad chemical compatibility across a wide pH range (pH 1- 14).The Millipore Express SHC devices are constructed with asymmetric composite membranes (patent pending) to deliver high permeability and up to twice the throughput than other sterilizing grade PES devices. By improving process efficiency up to 50%, the Millipore Express SHC filters allow biopharmaceutical manufacturers to either reduce filtration area while maintaining the same batch volume, or increase throughput without increasing filtration area requirements.Millipore Express SHC filters are available in a variety of filter formats and sizes to meet customer needs from process development to full-scale manufacturing.
