Green Day for Praxair’s Sustainability Efforts

Newsweek has ranked Praxair No. 30 in the U.S. 500 and No. 52 in the Global 500 Newsweek Green Rankings. Elsewhere in the study Praxair was ranked No. 3 in the Global 500 worldwide Materials sector. According to Praxair, this is the fifth consecutive year the prominent media outlet has recognized the industrial gas company since the program was launched

Praxair has a long history of being recognized for its commitment to sustainable development. Most recently, the company was named in CR Magazine’s 100 Best Corporate Citizens list. Praxair is also the only U.S. chemical company selected for 11 consecutive years to the prestigious Dow Jones World Sustainability Index. In 2013. “We are pleased to once again be recognized for our employees’ commitment to making our planet more productive,” says Steve Angel, Praxair chairman and chief executive officer. “Environmental and social responsibility are not just slogans at Praxair; they are core values that we take very seriously and have embedded in our culture over many years.”

Newsweek’s Green Rankings ranks the largest companies in the U.S. and globally, based on criteria for Environmental and Social Governance (ESG). The Newsweek rankings are the result of a rigorous review by a leading sustainability ranking organization and an advisory board that includes sustainability experts.
