Roche announced a long-term partnership with GE Healthcare this week to pool patient data for better diagnostics.
The ultimate goal of the partnership is to create software that combines patient data from multiple monitoring tools — such as heart rate, blood pressure or blood tests — so that healthcare professionals can quickly catch impending problems.
The companies say that the software will be compatible with existing systems. Although they plan to create applications that will work in various parts of the hospital, they will start by creating templates for critical care and oncology.
