Amgen have announced its intent to invest up to $300 million for building a new manufacturing facility in the United States, where the company expects to employ up to 300 highly skilled full-time employees.This move is part of a $3.5-billion investment in capital expenditures over the next five years.
According to Amgen, the new facility will employ the company's next-generation biomanufacturing capabilities and will manufacture products for the U.S. and export markets. The construction and validation work is also expected to add 220 jobs to the local economy.
Amgen is aiming to finalize the exact location of the new facility in the second quarter of 2018.
