Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. announced in a press release that one of its wholly owned subsidiaries has received final approval from U.S. FDA for its Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) for a generic version of Zetia, (ezetimibe) Tablets 10mg.
The generic ezetimibe tablets are therapeutic equivalents of Merck’s Zetia tablets, which are anti-cholesterol drugs. According to IMS, ezetimibe tablets had annual sales of about $2.7 billion for the 12 months ended April 2017.
