According to unnamed sources in a Bloomberg article, Oxycontin-manufacturer Purdue Pharma could be proposing a settlement to put an end to lawsuits concerning the nationwide opioid epidemic.
Lawyers for Purdue reportedly approached several southern-state attorneys general who haven’t yet sued the company, as they attempt to gauge interest in a wider-ranging deal, said four people familiar with the matter.
More than 12 states and about 100 counties and cities have already sued Purdue, other opioid makers and drug distributors, the article said.
