President Trump Targets Prescription Drug Prices

In a cabinet meeting, President Trump reportedly said prescription drug prices are out of control and drug companies are getting away with murder.

According to a CNBC article, both pharma and biotech stocks dropped after Trump was quoted as saying drug prices are out of control. It said shares from pharma companies including Pfizer, Merck and Eli Lilly dropped slightly after his comments.

Trump also said American consumers are paying multiples of what other countries are paying for the same drugs, made by the same companies, sold in the same box.
