Dec. 15, 2016

New York-based PL Developments is opening a new operations facility in Greenville County, South Carolina. The company plans to spend $45 million and create about 450 new jobs at its new facility in Piedmont, S.C., according to the S.C. Department of Commerce. It will be the second operation in South Carolina and the 6th production operation in the United States. The new facility will include enhanced logistics capabilities along with new pharmaceutical manufacturing and packaging capabilities.

"The commissioning of the Old Griffin Road site provides both short- and long-term opportunities to enhance the capabilities of our business,” said Evan Singer, president of PL Developments, in a news release. “The strategic location provides us efficient access to major rail, highway and ocean ports, which will benefit our business immediately.”

The company manufactures, packages and distributes more than 450 health care products, serving primarily U.S. retailers. PL Developments has more than 1 million-square-feet of manufacturing space, according to the release.

The Greenville County location is expected to start logistics operations early in 2017 and the new manufacturing and packaging capabilities are planned to be ready in early 2018.
