Martin Shkreli Uses Twitter to Call Congress 'Imbeciles'

Feb. 5, 2016
At a hearing of the U.S. House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, Martin Shkreli repeatedly invoked the Fifth Amendment, refusing to answer questions about drug pricing.

Appearing against his will, the former drug exec was advised by his lawyer to decline to answer lawmakers' question, given the criminal charges against him.

However, Shkreli later had plenty to say on Twitter where he tweeted, "Hard to accept that these imbeciles represent the people in our government."

Shkreli was arrested on securities fraud charges unrelated to this hearing in December. He then stepped down from Turing and was fired from KaloBios Pharmaceuticals.
