The Federation of Medical and Sales Representatives’ Associations of India (FMRAI) announced a one-day strike by more than 500 Sun Pharma sales reps.
According to an article in livemint, Sun Pharma and FMRAI, the largest union of medical sales representatives in India, have had issues after Sun Pharma allegedly transferred and demoted some employees of Ranbaxy, which Sun Pharma acquired last year. The $3.5 billion Sun-Ranbaxy merger was completed in March 2015.
Strike demands include immediate release of the deducted wages of sales staff and recategorization of sales executives as medical sales representatives (MSRs).
