Sanofi, Google Partner on Diabetes Treatment

Google’s life science unit has partnered with drugmaker Sanofi to bring new technology to diabetes treatment.

Sanofi, which manufactures top selling insulin, Lantus, will work with google to develop smart insulin delivery devices, smart measurement devices, and an interface and an integrating platform.

Google and Sanofi will develop ways to store and analyze glucose levels in real time, enabling patients and doctors to respond more quickly.

Last year, Google announced it was working with Novartis to test prototypes of a smart contact lens that is built to measure glucose levels in tears using a tiny wireless chip and miniaturized glucose sensor.
