Merck Recalls Chemo Drug Over Packaging Issue
Aug 19, 2015
Merck is recalling 276,000 bottles of branded chemotherapy drug, Temodar and generic drug, temozolomide, due to cracked child-proof caps.
Merck says the defect -- which occurred during the manufacturing process -- affects about 1,100 bottles. The quality of the medication in the bottles is not affected.
Temozolomide, the generic version, is made and packaged by Merck, but sold by Novartis' Sandoz.
