Amgen to Lay Off 200 Workers at Two Colorado Facilities

Amgen, based in Thousand Oaks, Calif., announced that 200 workers involved in its manufacturing operations will no longer be employed by the company, effective April 30. Amgen's Longmont site is the only one in the world at which the drug Epogen is manufactured, and the company had announced in August 2012 that it would be shuttering its Epogen manufacturing at a then-undetermined time.
