Azbil BioVigilant has entered into an agreement with Archilex to distribute in North America the BioTrends product line--a paperless data-management solution for pharmaceutical laboratory and manufacturing environments.
Developed in close collaboration with the pharmaceutical industry, BioTrends software streamlines management of quality assurance environmental monitoring (EM) processes and the monitoring and trending of all EM data points including water, air, surface, gas, personnel, raw materials and finished products, the company says. With this easy-to-use, paperless tool, pharmaceutical companies can improve the quality and reduce the costs for all areas of their microbiological laboratory.
According to a University of Pisa study, implementation of the BioTrends solution demonstrated a time savings of 58 percent for microbiological EM activities compared to traditional paper-process methods.
The package is 21 CFR Part 11 compliant and can simplify operators’ data entry tasks while providing managers with a powerful tool for data analysis, trending and report generation. The software also can be used to schedule and manage all routine EM activities. The Windows-based software is offered in both stand-alone and enterprise editions, with separate modules to enable activity scheduling and automated barcode data collection.
