Ecolab Life Sciences has opened a new Bioprocessing Applications Laboratory in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania.
The facility is intended to support biopharmaceutical and contract manufacturing companies with purification process development for biotherapeutics, offering services from small-scale development through full commercial production.
Equipped with high-throughput tools and manufacturing-scale chromatography columns, the lab enables companies to conduct studies on alternative resins, optimize downstream processes, and reduce manufacturing costs. It also supports regulatory submissions and process characterization across the drug development lifecycle.
The Pennsylvania site expands Ecolab’s global presence and complements its European Applications and R&D Lab in Wales. Both are part of the company’s Pharma Center of Excellence initiative, which includes additional facilities such as an API and excipient manufacturing site and a customer experience center.
The new U.S. lab is already in use by biopharma and CDMO clients for lifecycle studies aimed at accelerating development timelines and improving manufacturing efficiencies. The facility will enable rapid study initiation and provides access to raw data and bench-level collaboration.
