Sanofi and Alphabet’s Verily Team Up for Diabetes Research

The companies will invest about $500 million in a joint venture to treat diabetes patients

Sanofi and Alphabet Inc.’s life sciences division, Verily, announced their plan to invest about $500M in a joint venture to treat diabetes based on forecasts that patients with diabetes are on the rise.

The venture, Onduo, plans to combine devices, software and medicine, according to a statement Monday from Sanofi and Verily, previously known as Google Life Sciences, according to a Bloomberg article.
