Merck Shutters Florida Plant, 112 Layoffs
A subsidiary of New Jersey-based Merck & Co. Inc. will be closing its Miami Lakes plant and eliminating 112 jobs.
Merck Sharp & Dohme Corp. filed a Workers Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN) notice saying it would close its manufacturing plant at 13900 N.W. 57th Court, according to an article in the South Florida Business Journal.
Merck will reportedly start the layoff process at its Miami Lakes plant on Nov. 15, and finish by Dec. 16.
