ICU Medical Acquires Pfizer’s Infusion Unit

The billion-dollar deal will quadruple ICU Medical’s sales, and Pfizer will own 17 percent of the company

ICU Medical, based in San Clemente, California, announced it will purchase Pfizer’s infusion systems unit for $1 billion in cash and stock, according to a Bloomberg article. The deal will more than quadruple its annual sales.

ICU Medical makes disposable systems for IV therapy and had $342 million in revenue last year. Pfizer will become its biggest shareholder with 17 percent ownership, according Bloomberg data.
