Teva Expected to Name AZ's Sorio as New CEO

According to an Israeli financial website, AstraZeneca CEO Pascal Sorio is in final stages to be hired as the next CEO of Teva Pharmaceuticals.

AstraZeneca CEO Pascal Sorio, a veterinarian, is expected to become the next CEO of Teva Pharmaceuticals, according to an article in Calcalist, a financial website. Sorio, who was AZ's CEO for almost five years, made headlines in 2016 when shareholders protested his $17.3 million annual salary.

Sorio reportedly agreed to accept the position with a signing bonus of $15M to $20M, and an annual salary almost double what the predecessor CEO, Erez Vigodman, received--upward of $11 million.
