Johnson & Johnson have announced that its manufacturing sites in Puerto Rico are running again after Hurricane Maria landed in the territory last month. However, the company says it still may experience intermittent shortages of some of its drugs.
"We are closely monitoring inventories across our global manufacturing network, prioritizing production of essential products and have already begun shipping newly manufactured goods from the island," said Dominic Caruso, J&J's CFO. During the company's earnings conference call, Caruso said all six of the company's Puerto Rico plants have reliable generator power and are fully operable.
J&J did not name which drugs might be subject to shortages, but have assured that the drugs produced on the island have either secondary production sites or backup supplies.
