J&J will appeal talc verdict to U.S. Supreme Court

After the Missouri Supreme Court refused to hear the drugmaker's appeal, Johnson & Johnson said it plans to ask the U.S. Supreme court to review the verdict worth $2.12 billion.

Johnson & Johnson have announced it will be appealing the $2.12 billion award to women that accused the company's baby powder and talc products of being asbestos laced, which caused their cancers.

J&J's decision comes after the Missouri Supreme Court refused to hear its appeal of a June 23 ruling this week. The mid-level state appeals court upheld the jury's liability finding.
