At long last, four pharmaceutical facilities--two at AstraZeneca, and one each at Schering-Plough and Allergan--have earned EPA's much coveted Energy Star recognition. We've been following this journey for a couple years (see this item on pharma's pursuit of the Star), and the current announcement is the culmination of industry efforts that began in earnest in 2005, when EPA opened up its program to pharma facilities.

Congrats to those four facilities, and it's only a matter of time until pharma plants are commonplace on the list of honorees.
