The Case of the Infertile Pigs: Wyeth Medica Ireland Charged with Improper Waste Disposal

Wyeth Medica Ireland pleaded guilty to the improper disposal of waste, which indirectly led to infertility in Dutch pigs.

Wyeth Medica Ireland (now part of Pfizer) pleaded guilty to the improper disposal of waste from the manufacture of a contraceptive drug made at its Newbridge plant. The drug wound up in treacle fed to pigs in the Netherlands, causing the animals to become infertile. The Irish Times reports.
