Stainless Motors, Inc. has developed the first washdown duty stainless steel motors approved for use in Hazardous Locations. These motors incorporate all of the features found in our Pharmaceutical Series and are suitable for use in the most critical areas where cleanliness, washdown tolerance, and safety due to hazardous liquids, vapors or dust exist.
These motors are all approved for use with PWM inverters and yield a 4:1 constant torque and 10:1 variable torque turndown ratio. All Hazardous Location motors are UL approved under file #E321978 for the U.S. and Canada. These motors have thermostats in the windings which are pilot circuit devices only and must be connected to the magnetic starter circuit or inverter drive and will not exceed surface temperatures of 165°C (329°F) equivalent to Code T3B when properly connected.
