New DVE 1000 extenders from CyberResearch, Inc. allow users to locate monitors or projectors up to 3300 feet away from host computers. Previous technology has limited PC video signals to about 500 feet. The new extenders stretch that limit to 1,640 ft for camera signals and 3,300 feet for video. By eliminating restrictions on monitor and projector placement, the technology can enhance computer and facility security by allowing computers to be located in secure areas away from people and conditions on the shop floor. CLE500 camera extenders offer similar benefits to systems including either machine vision or security cameras.
