Allergan Recalls Eye Treatments Due to Particles

Allergan is voluntarily recalling certain lots of eye-treatment ointments sold in the U.S. amid customer complaints of a small black particle breaking off the cap and contaminating the product.

Reported Adverse Events include 12 reports of foreign body in the eye as well as a few reports of eye irritation, discomfort and pain.

The recall includes specific lots of its REFRESH Lacri-Lube for dry eye, REFRESH PM, FML 0.1% topical anti-inflammatory agent for ophthalmic use, and Blephamide 10%/0.2%.
