Pfizer is considering an expansion in one of three locations -- Andover, Massachusetts; Grange Castle, Ireland; or Chesterfield, Missouri.

Andover is lobbying hard, attempting to work out a possible Tax Increment Financing (TIF) plan to entice the Pfizer to expand in the area.

The Andover space is currently a 70-acre site that combines state-of-the-art R&D facilities with flexible, multi-product manufacturing capabilities. The campus consists of eight buildings which house laboratories, clinical and commercial manufacturing suites, purification and support areas and a clinical Drug Product manufacturing facility.

If the project goes through in Andover, Pfizer anticipates spending $200 million overall, with $50 million for machinery and equipment expansion, and the rest for construction. Pfizer’s expanded presence would also potentially mean 200 more job opportunities.
