With the rapid proliferation of apps for iPhones and iPod Touches, it is inevitable that FDA will have to get its arms around what to do with apps that are essentially medical devices--such as those that measure cholesterol. Medical and industrial apps may be the next big thing (imagine being able to go into your plant and hook your IPhone up to any sensor and get a good read), agrees Advertising Age.
