Rockwell Automation has launched a new Web-based training program designed to offer customers access to training at any time, from any location. The first courses available will support the Rockwell Automation Integrated Architecture platform, a multidiscipline control and information architecture based on industry standards, and will include instruction on Rockwell RSView Studio and RSLogix 13 software programming packages. The new online courses can be purchased individually or as a part of a training package. Information on the courses is available at www.rockwellautomation.com/training"Pressures to improve operational performance and processes over the past few years have resulted in employee technology training being overlooked or postponed because of limited budget or time," said Mike Laszkiewicz, vice president, customer support and maintenance, Rockwell Automation. "It's ironic, because having a well-trained workforce is one of the best ways for manufacturers to optimize manpower and technology performance. We've developed this Internet-based learning environment to help meet our customers' need for affordable, comprehensive training that is flexible enough to meet individual schedules."In addition to the RSView and RSLogix training programs, Rockwell Automation plans to add nearly a dozen online classes during the next 12 months. Each course will include 10 to 15 hours of instruction comprised of 3-D animations, simulations, a video narrator, baseline knowledge measurement tests and final exams to gauge the effectiveness of the training. Broken into hour-long instruction sessions, the teaching material is organized for flexibility in scheduling.
