Roche gets emergency FDA OK for coronavirus test kits

Roche Holding's new, high-speed coronavirus test has been granted emergency clearance by the FDA, helping efforts to expand capacity to diagnose the virus.

The test, which will be available immediately, is designed to run on the company’s automated machines. The machines are already installed in more than 100 laboratories across the U.S.

This is the third coronavirus diagnostic to receive emergency-use authorization from the FDA.
