Estimating the True Value of Human Assets: Tips from NuView Systems

Feb. 21, 2007
We'll soon be publishing an article by Shafiq Lokhandwala, CEO of the HR management company NuView Systems, on how to evaluate the true worth of employees.  Today, many senior managers may know what their equipment and other fixed assets are worth, to the dollar, but they don't always know the $ value of their human assets, and, thus, may often be too quick to agree to eliminating (or "offshoring") positions that might more profitably have been retained. The authors say that they key to realizing the full potential of employees is to track data ---such things as revenue to employee, productivity to employee, turnover rate, time to fill new positions and cost to hire ---over time.  This sounds obvious, but one wonders how many companies actually do this?
