Single pot processors boost quality, safety
Collette, a division of Niro, Inc., has extended its Ultimagral high shear granulator range by introducing its UltimaPro single pot processors with several possible drying options, such as standard vacuum drying, gas-assisted vacuum drying and microwave drying. The UltimaPro processors also feature a swinging bowl to improve drying times and granulate quality. The UltimaPro range offers the opportunity to mix, granulate and dry in one piece of equipment, thereby reducing process time, contamination risk and investment costs. The processor achieves exceptionally high containment levels, thus enhancing both operator safety and product quality and making the UltimaPro ideal for processing highly potent compounds. The modular design of the UltimaPro range allows retrofitting of a simple vacuum dryer up to a state-of-the-art microwave dryer incorporating a swinging bowl. The UltimaPro range is available in capacities from 10 L to 1200 L.Standard features include:
  • cGMP-design: smooth covering, no external tubing and piping allowing easy cleaning
  • Completely integrated, full opening side discharge to facilitate discharge of difficult products
  • Top driven mixer and chopper: no seals in direct contact with the product
  • Highly efficient vacuum drying system
  • Through the wall installation: minimum space required in GMP area
  • User-friendly operator-machine interaction via graphical operator panel
  • Flexibility (processes and products): wet granulation, melt granulation, pelletization, etc.
Optional features include:
  • Swinging bowl: Reduces drying times and caking, improves granulate quality
  • Transflo(gas-assisted vacuum drying), microwave drying
  • Movable head: easy access and operation without need for a platform
  • Explosion-proof design
  • Automatic cleaning (WIP/CIP) of entire system
  • Procoll Pro: PC-based batch control software considering ISA S88.01 and 21 CFR part 11
  • Easy, automated granulation control
  • Jacketed/insulated bowl
  • Total containment through up- and downstream split valves
  • Integration with downstream equipment possible: closed link for dustfree operation
  • Video monitoring of the process
  • Liquid addition system (peristaltic pump/pressure vessel/mass flow meter)
  • Product feeding both by gravity or vacuum loading system directly from the containers
  • Validation documentation and assistance based on GAMP
