Shanghai Pharma Considers Bid for Germany's Stada

Shanghai Pharma may bid against buyout firms Bain and Cinven, which made a joint offer of almost $6 billion for the generics drug manufacturer Stada.

China's Shanghai Pharmaceutical Holding Co. announced it may bid for Germany's Stada Arzneimittel AG, and compete against buyout firms Bain and Cinven, which reportedly made a joint offer of almost $6 billion, according a Reuters story.

The Chinese company said in a filing it had recently discussed the matter with "a couple of financial investors," but it had not made a concrete offer yet.
