Valeant Pharmaceuticals International said it would lay off 258 Salix Pharmaceuticals' workers in Raleigh, North Carolina. The layoffs add to the Triangle’s pharma area already trying to absorb more than 1,000 workers after GlaxoSmithKline and Hospira announced layoffs, according to a Triangle Business Journal article.
