This Month in Pharma: November 2015

Dec. 2, 2015

November brought us the biggest deal in pharma history: Pfizer and Allergan merged in $160B deal, creating the world's biggest pharmaceutical company.

In terms of regulatory action, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories received warning letters from the U.S. FRA for three key Indian facilities manufacturing APIs and oncology drugs and french regulator ANSM suspended manufacturing from Catalent’s softgel plant in Beinheim, France.

Roche Holding announced plans to close four manufacturing sites and cut 1,200 employee positions in a restructuring program that will cost the drugmaker about $1.6 billion, while German drugmaker Boehringer Ingelheim will invest a total of $11.8 billion in its new research and development program over the next five years.
