GSK Now Facing Bribery Allegations in Romania

July 30, 2015

According to a Reuters exclusive, drugmaker GlaxoSmithKline, who has been dealing with a massive corruption scandal in China for the past two years, is now facing new bribery allegations in Romania.

Reuters reports that a whistleblower's email was sent to top GSK management, alleging that several Romanian doctors were paid for speaking engagements that never occured, and that GSK also provided doctors with international trips and made payments to them under the pretence of participation in advisory boards.

Last April, GSK also investigated claims that staff in Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq and Poland may have bribed doctors.

GSK is reportedly looking into the recent claims.
