Mekka will be performing a rap at the Obama inauguration.  More stereotype-smashing from the NY Daily News.  (Free download of Mekka's new EP, All Eyes on Me, from urb.com requires registering for software that isn't free....or maybe I'm not doing it properly).

For a taste, though, here's a link to their MySpace page and their rap, Dear Obama. Yes, it's political, and yes, they are fans. But pretty nice lyrics.

Sad news from one reader and news of a few Novartis layoffs that didn't appear in the news, as well as very disturbing news that Pfizer will be laying off up to 800 researchers at its showcase Groton facility.

Wishing any Pfizer and Novartis alumni, and any other temporarily displaced professionals out there, a quick and painless job search, whether it takes you to pharma or whole new worlds.

Clearly, flexibility and career resilience are key.
