High-capacity, Stackable Shaking Cabinets Feature Patented Drive Mechanism
Sartorius BBI Systems Inc. (formerly B. Braun Biotech Inc. and now an American subsidiary of Sartorius AG) announces the redesigned Certomat BS-1 line of high-capacity, stackable environmental shaking cabinets. The Certomat BS-1 has been completely redesigned for improved user-friendliness and longevity.Requiring less than 10 square feet of floor space (46" x 30 3/4"), up to three cabinets can be stacked without any reduction in shaking speeds. The interior chamber offers capacity for up to six-liter Erlenmeyer flasks. All key parameters-speed, temperature and light, time cycles-are user programmable through a state-of-the-art digital controller and are displayed on a four line, twenty-character alphanumeric LCD screen with multi-language support. This advanced programming feature allows for true real time control of all your cultures. Up to five four-step programs can be stored and password protected. Clean up of accidental spills is easy with a hygienic, highly polished stainless steel interior and removable spill tray. To prevent unauthorized access or tampering, cultures are secure behind lockable doors in the Certomat BS-1.The patented shaker drive mechanism with adjustable orbit allows each Certomat BS-1 to be converted to either a 25 or 50 mm orbit on-site through a mechanical adjustment to the shaking mechanism. The unique triple eccentric drive features adjustable mass compensation, which allows for quiet and reliable operation at speeds to 400 rpm even under maximum loads. The Certomat BS-1 is also available with built-in refrigeration enabling incubation temperatures near and below ambient. An optional illumination accessory allows the growth of photosynthetic organisms in day and night conditions through simple programming. Every Certomat BS-1 can be customized to individual culture requirements by selecting from an array of accessories including fixed clamp trays as well as universal trays. Universal trays accept a variety of clamp sizes, test tube racks, microtiter plate holders and special mounting systems, as well as sticky tape and sticky mats in place of clamps.
