Scientists Unlock the Mysteries of Teen Edginess

Parents shaking their heads and wondering "where did we go wrong?" at their door-slamming, "whatever"-spouting teens may take heart in research published in Nature, and summarized in an article in today's Scientific American.  Teen angst, they believe, can be traced to allopregnanolone, a stress hormone that calms adults and children, but has the opposite effect on teens.
